Editorial Board Dishes Auntie Love and Karaoke in Panda Express’ Latest Commercial

Panda Express’ latest commercial playfully highlights food as a love language through the universal question, “Have you eaten yet?” Set in a funky, retro home, the spot starts off with a teenage boy doing homework when he is interrupted by a group of exuberant and endearing aunties belting out heartfelt and hilariously off-key performances about food, love and connection. Senior Flame Artist Artie Peña of Editorial Board delighted in providing finishing for this hilarious spot created by agency Opinionated. 

“This was a really fun project to be a part of – with bold and original creative by Opinionated,” notes Peña. “We were brought in early to talk through approaches that would be integral in post and this made for an easy collaboration when adaptations – like set extensions, more disco ball sparkle, or graphics updates – were needed. Ultimately our work was to deliver invisible touches that supported the memorable and hilarious idea.”
